SUMMER SCHOOL
Mechanical Engineering students who want to do summer school at other universities can take courses that are not opened in our department from other universities. According to the directive, you must first take common courses opened in other departments at our university from your own university. Students who want to do summer school at other universities must fill out the attached petition. (In the petition; You must write the course information taught in our university curriculum for the Course in the Curriculum, and the course information you want to take from another university for the Equivalent Course).
-You must forward the filled petition,
-your transcript,
-the course content of the course or courses you will take from the other university,
-the summer school academic calendar of the other university, and
-the course curriculum of the other university

According to the undergraduate education-training and exam directive, you can take courses for a maximum of 5 courses and not exceeding 32 weekly lesson hours. Important articles are listed below. After sending an e-mail, your application will be evaluated and you will be informed. Then, you need to deliver the signed version of your petition to our department by cargo or by hand. If you want to get more detailed information on the subject, please contact your advisors by e-mail.
A student can benefit from the summer school opened at the our University as much as he/she wants within the framework of the principles. If a student benefits from a summer school opened in other higher education institutions, he/she can take up to 20 percent of the total credits required to graduate during his/her education in the unit.
In order to take a course from the next semester and/or year, students who do not have a repeat course and whose GPA is at least 3.00 can take a maximum of 10 ECTS courses from the next semester/year without prerequisites in a semester/year and a maximum of 16 ECTS courses in the summer school.
A maximum of 16 ECTS courses can be taken in the summer school.
It does not matter which higher education institution the course for which exemption is requested is taken from, whether it is compulsory or elective. The evaluation is made by taking into account the course content compliance/qualification credit and department/program equivalence.
When evaluating course credits, one credit can be made for courses up to four credits, and two credits can be made for courses with five or more credits.
For courses with an ECTS of up to 4 in our department, the course you will count can have a maximum of one ECTS deficiency, and for courses with an ECTS of 5 and above, the course you will count can have a maximum of two ECTS deficiencies. In other words, if the ECTS of a course in our department is 4, the ECTS of the course you will count must be at least 3, if it is 2, it will not be accepted. Or, if the ECTS of a course in our department is 6, the ECTS of the course you will count must be at least 4, if it is 3, it will not be accepted, 4, 5 or 6 and above will be accepted.
NOTE: If you are doing a summer internship, you cannot do an internship on the days when you have summer school classes or exams.
